Alright since we have this baby raising thing under control now we will start to blog more often now! Those are his two hospital pictures that we love the most.

We had our first doctors appointment last Monday and he weighed in at 11 lbs. 9 ounces. That puts him in the 90% percentile! He was also 22 inches which puts him in the 75% percentile. Short and stalky, the way we grow them!

And I had to throw these next two pictures in because I don't want to start early, but he may like football! The first picture is Lucas enjoying his first baseball game. He was watching his Uncle Bud!

We are all doing well, Lucas is even sleeping 6 hours during the night now which makes us happier. Well we will probably blog after Easter with his cute Easter outfit and his first easter egg hunt. Most likely daddy will be more into it than Lucas.

Also one last thing, we have skype now. We were lent a webcam to borrow for a couple of weeks but we are in the process of purchasing one as well so for anyone who has skype, look us up and we can video talk (or whatever the kids are calling it!) The name is Joe Beavers and our user ID is jmlbeavers.

Have a great day everyone and God Bless!!

Showered with gifts!

2 Beautiful showers, countless wonderful gifts, and amazing family & friends…
It’s been awhile since we’ve blogged; sorry about that! On Sunday January 18th, Aunt Michelle, Aunt Jenny, and Grandma Beavers threw us a beautiful Dr. Seuss themed shower. The decorations were beautiful and the games were great! Aunt Jenny made a Cat in the Hat cake, which was amazing…nice job Jenn!!!!!!!!! Guests were asked to put their sculpting abilities to the test as they had to sculpt the best baby that they could. If I remember correctly Nicole won…she even attached an umbilical cordJ Guests were done yet, they then had to put their creativity to the test and create a poem about Joe and I. Heather won that game with a beautifully written poem. Guests also had to decide which features/attributes Baby B would have, such as eyes, smile, common sense, etc. That was a fun one for sure! I was so thrilled to have my Mom and sister travel all the way from Akron and share that day with me! All together it was a beautiful day and it just made this whole baby journey that much more real for me!

On Sunday January 25th, Grandma Kathy, Aunt Susie, Jess, Aunt Lisa, Aunt Rosie, Auntie Em, and Great Grandma Louise threw us an absolutely incredible shower. They had an adorable signature board so that people could leave some love for Baby B, a wonderful cake, a jellybean guessing game on whether or not we are having Lucas or Olivia, and terrific food! Connie and Edna put together adorable jellybean favors; those two are so crafty! We had around 50 guests attend; and it was so wonderful to have so many people that I love there! A particularly entertaining piece was the robe game! My wonderful BJ made and sent the robe all the way from Delaware so that “Daddy” could model the peach robe with tons of baby items on it for all of the guests to see! He was a terrific model…please enjoy the lovely pictures of him and his modeling debut..

Needless to say that after these two showers our living room was packed with so many wonderful gifts for our little one. Slowly, we are getting things put away and ready for his/her arrival. The nursery is one of Joe and I’s favorite places to be these days, we love what it has transformed into and can’t wait to hold, play with, and rock our baby in this room.

I’ll give you a quick update on how I’m feeling these days. God has been so good to us throughout this pregnancy in keeping us healthy and happy. I feel blessed beyond measure to have had the chance to carry this little one for almost 37 weeks now! I’ve never been so excited to meet someone in my life…I imagine daily what he/she will look like and the chubby cheeks that I’m sure he/she will have! (I can’t wait to kiss those!) Nearing the end, it’s no secret that I’m pretty exhausted after a day at work, but I’m managing and very thankful for the ability to still be working! My students and co-workers have been pretty wonderful and I am thankful for that as well!

Thank you so much for following along on our blog with us! We will keep you updated with the latest developments.

The Baby's Room

We finally finished the baby’s room. Grandma Klein, Uncle Bud, Amanda, and Ricky came up to help us paint the room. Ricky was amazing at tracing the images onto the wall. We put the images on a transparency and then used an overhead projector to trace the images. The process was smoother than I thought it would be. After all the images were traced, each was in charge of painting a certain character. After all the painting was done, we even put together the crib to the pregnancy more real!!

For those who did not know we are not finding out the sex of the baby. That is why we chose the Dr. Seuss theme. Mere is a big fan of the books and we thought the theme was very gender neutral.

Our baby showers are coming up soon and we are very excited. The first one is in Columbus and my Aunt Michelle, Aunt Jenny, and Grandma Beavers are throwing it for us. We are very appreciated of them doing this for us because I know they are busy. The weekend after that is the shower in Akron. Jessica and all of Mere’s family is throwing that one for us. If it is anything like our wedding shower in Akron, it will be kind of big. I just hope someone gives us wisdom how to be parents because with 7 weeks left, it is starting to freak us out a little! But I guess that is the best part of becoming new parents, that 99% scared and 1% exciting feeling.
