2 Beautiful showers, countless wonderful gifts, and amazing family & friends…
It’s been awhile since we’ve blogged; sorry about that! On Sunday January 18th, Aunt Michelle, Aunt Jenny, and Grandma Beavers threw us a beautiful Dr. Seuss themed shower. The decorations were beautiful and the games were great! Aunt Jenny made a Cat in the Hat cake, which was amazing…nice job Jenn!!!!!!!!! Guests were asked to put their sculpting abilities to the test as they had to sculpt the best baby that they could. If I remember correctly Nicole won…she even attached an umbilical cordJ Guests were done yet, they then had to put their creativity to the test and create a poem about Joe and I. Heather won that game with a beautifully written poem. Guests also had to decide which features/attributes Baby B would have, such as eyes, smile, common sense, etc. That was a fun one for sure! I was so thrilled to have my Mom and sister travel all the way from Akron and share that day with me! All together it was a beautiful day and it just made this whole baby journey that much more real for me!
On Sunday January 25th, Grandma Kathy, Aunt Susie, Jess, Aunt Lisa, Aunt Rosie, Auntie Em, and Great Grandma Louise threw us an absolutely incredible shower. They had an adorable signature board so that people could leave some love for Baby B, a wonderful cake, a jellybean guessing game on whether or not we are having Lucas or Olivia, and terrific food! Connie and Edna put together adorable jellybean favors; those two are so crafty! We had around 50 guests attend; and it was so wonderful to have so many people that I love there! A particularly entertaining piece was the robe game! My wonderful BJ made and sent the robe all the way from Delaware so that “Daddy” could model the peach robe with tons of baby items on it for all of the guests to see! He was a terrific model…please enjoy the lovely pictures of him and his modeling debut..
Needless to say that after these two showers our living room was packed with so many wonderful gifts for our little one. Slowly, we are getting things put away and ready for his/her arrival. The nursery is one of Joe and I’s favorite places to be these days, we love what it has transformed into and can’t wait to hold, play with, and rock our baby in this room.
I’ll give you a quick update on how I’m feeling these days. God has been so good to us throughout this pregnancy in keeping us healthy and happy. I feel blessed beyond measure to have had the chance to carry this little one for almost 37 weeks now! I’ve never been so excited to meet someone in my life…I imagine daily what he/she will look like and the chubby cheeks that I’m sure he/she will have! (I can’t wait to kiss those!) Nearing the end, it’s no secret that I’m pretty exhausted after a day at work, but I’m managing and very thankful for the ability to still be working! My students and co-workers have been pretty wonderful and I am thankful for that as well!
Thank you so much for following along on our blog with us! We will keep you updated with the latest developments.
